Tractor Pulling Rules and Regulations


N.A.P.A's Tractor Pull is a non-competitive demonstration only.

No prize money, trophies, ribbons or rewards of any type will be given.

Entry fees $10.00 will be charged. Memberships are not required but new members are always welcome. Join at the Headquarters building.

Pullers are welcome to participate in other events and displays on the main grounds.

While every effort is made to ensure the safe operation of the tractor pull event for all participants and spectators, N.A.P.A. and its directors, members, agents, and volunteers do not express, imply, warranty, or guarantee the safety of tractors and equipment or the safe operation of such tractors and equipment by the participants. All tractors are to be operated in a safe manner on and off the track. All contestants pull at there own risk.

No consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs on show grounds or parking lots.

N.A.P.A. and/or the sled operator has the right to refuse any tractor that we believe can not be operated in a safe manner.

Announcements regarding regulations for tractors and operators made on the actual day of the event will take precedent over previously published rules.

The decisions of N.A.P.A.s directors and chairmen are final.

Antique Class

Must be 2wd tractors manufactured before 1960.

Original type engines, manifolds, and carburetors.

Open Class

This class has been developed to accommodate the growing number of tractors pulling in recent year's including 1960 and later tractors, conversion and homebuilt tractors, and others not conforming to Antique Class.

Open Class pulls after Antique Class in their respective weight divisions.

No move ups in Open Class

General Rules

1. The drawbar height or the point of hitch is to be a maximum of 18 inches to ground.

2. The drawbar length no less than 18 inches from the centre line of axel to point of hitch.

3. Tractors must have a working governor, no strings or wires attached. No more than 30% over manufacturers R.P.M. allowed. We reserve the right to tach check any or all.

4. All weights must be securely fastened.

5. All tractors must have working brakes.

6. All tractors must be in neutral when being hitched or unhitched.

7. The operator must be seated during pull.

8. The operator must be 16 years of age or older.

9. A pull will end when the forward motion of the sled stops.

10. The operator must stop the tractor immediately when red flagged.

11. No pressurized fuel systems. {Excluding stock factory propane}

12. Tractors will be weighed to determined entry class. Maximum 200 lbs. over, if weights cannot be easily removed.

Tractor pulls will take place on both Saturday July 2nd and Sunday July 3rd: Weigh in and registration starts an hour before the pulls begin. Registration for the tractor pull takes place at the pull track.

We can always use some extra helpers to hook and unhook tractors, flag and help with track maintenance. Please volunteer when your class is not pulling.
